As a child I listened to this album countless times on tape.
One of my albums for the island, for sure: dEUS ‘The Ideal Crash’.
This album contains the first song of the band I fell in love with, ‘High And Dry’.
Great songs, touching lyrics and a thoroughly humane attitude.
The brain behind the project is Richard Russell, music producer and owner of the label XL Recordings.
I would call this album an early highlight of Britpop.
Just listen to Rupert and escape for a little while.
It's so fucking cool to have a Pavement song about my hometown on this record: ‘Zurich Is Stained’ - honestly, I don't get the lyrics at all.
Today I rediscover one of my absolute favorite bands and listen to some of their records.
