1997: The absolute top albums from the last 50 years or just soundtracks of my life

Sweet 16 years old, guitars were important and yet already so many other things that are also somehow exciting in music. Music was key. Music was everywhere.

Björk shows quite a lot of feeling, French rap kicks blatantly pure and Van Morrison preaches wisdom. From today's point of view also more critical readable, but sublime in its album totality. I went to business school. It opened up worlds and abysses at the same time.

But it remains above all the memory of the energy. The music brings it out.

In no particular order.

  • Yo La Tengo ‘I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One’

  • Björk ‘Homogenic’

  • Radiohead ‘OK Computer’

  • MC Solaar ‘Qui Sème le Vent Récolte le Tempo’

  • Portishead ‘Portishead’

  • Faith No More ‘Album Of The Year’

  • Van Morrison ‘The Healing Game’

  • Foo Fighters ‘The Colour And The Shape’

  • Daft Punk ‘Homework’

I’m going to post the top 9 albums of every year from the last 50 years. One post every week.
