1988: The absolute top albums from the last 50 years or just soundtracks of my life

Only one of these records I actually heard as a seven-year-old in 1988. I discovered the other records of the list later in my life. And at my second concert ever, in the summer of '88, I saw the young Whitney Houston in Basel. My father didn't just make bad decisions after all.

In no particular order.

  • Talk Talk - Spirit Of Eden

  • The Sugarcubes - Life’s Too Good

  • Tracy Chapman - Tracy Chapman

  • Prince - Lovesexy

  • The Waterboys - Fisherman’s Blues

  • The Go-Betweens - 16 Lovers Lane

  • Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation

  • Pixies - Surfer Rosa

  • Metallica - … And Justice For All

I’m going to post the top 9 albums of every year from the last 50 years. One post every week.

If you like the albums and the songs, go check out the playlist on Spotify.
