1971: The absolute top albums from the last 50 years or just soundtracks of my life

I’ve heard all these albums a long time after their release of course. I was born 1981. So I may say that all my choices for 1971 are albums that remained. In different ways. In different moods. And as a great inspiration for everything to come in the next 50 years. Your favorite artists’ favorite artists.

In no particular order.

  • David Bowie - Honky Dory

  • Sly And The Family Stone - There’s A Riot Going On

  • The Who - Who’s Next?

  • Serge Gainsbourg - Histoire d’Melody Nelson

  • Mani Matter - Ir Ysebahn

  • Leonard Cohen - Songs Of Love And Hate

  • John Lennon - Imagine

  • Led Zeppelin - IV

  • Joni Mitchell - Blue

I’m going to post the top 9 albums of every year from the last 50 years. One post every week.

If you like the albums and the songs, go check out the playlist on Spotify.

The playlist for the Sailing For Peace blog series 'Top Albums From The Last 50 Years'. Nine songs for each year representing the nine albums of the year. Randomly from 1971 to 2021. It grows every week. And it is a lot of good music.
